The ASEAN-Australia Energy Cooperation Programme (AAECP) is a partnership between the Government of Australia, through the Australia for ASEAN Futures Initiative (Aus4ASEAN Futures), and the ASEAN Secretariat, implemented by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE). The Programme aims to support ASEAN Member States in advancing the priorities and achieving the targets outlined in the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2026–2030. As part of this effort, AAECP identifies Programme Area 1: ASEAN Power Grid (APG) as a key priority, with a focus on strengthening regional governance arrangements and operational practices under the APG framework to facilitate more effective cross-border multilateral electricity trading. This objective will be pursued through two complementary projects: Project 1.1: Strengthening ACE as the APG Secretariat and Project 1.2: Advancing Cross-Border Electricity Trading Capabilities.
