2023 Population: 71.7 million​

Thailand has a total land area of 513,120 km2, sharing the border with Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia and Myanmar. With a population of 71.7 million people in 2023, the country has a GDP (Current US$) of USD 515.9 Billion as the second largest GDP in Southeast Asia after Indonesia [1]. Thailand has provided electricity access to all citizens. The electricity is consumed in the average of 3,032 kWh per capita.​

As of 2023, 67.40% of primary energy comes from oil and natural gas, 10.86% comes from coal and 16.6% comes from Renewable Energy. Hydro is the dominant renewable energy source in Thailand with 28.7 TWh generated in 2023 (equal to about 44.94% of all renewable generation in Thailand), followed by Bioenergy (35.98%) and Solar (13.59%). Thailand has the second largest Biomass, Biogas and Wind installed Capacity in the region in 2023 after Cambodia [2].
