Vietnam has a total land area of 331,230 km², with the total population of 95.5 million people in 2018, is the third largest ASEAN member state by population. The country shares a land border with Cambodia, China and Lao PDR as well as a maritime border with China and Thailand. The GDP (PPP constant price 2011) reached USD 620.3 billion in 2018 with annual growth at 5.2% [1]. The national electrification rate has reached 100%. The residential electricity price is purchased at 0.07 USD/kWh and consumed by citizens on the average of 1,809 kWh per capita.

As of 2018, the power production is dominated by coal with a share of 41.6% in electricity generation, followed by hydropower with 37.7% and natural gas with 18.5%. Markets for renewable energies especially solar power shows tremendous stage, Vietnam was becoming a solar giant as the solar installation. By 2018, the country had 86 MW solar installation [2].
