Event & Conference
The AICEE is our flagship annual international conference for experts to present and discuss their scholarly work. In conjunction with the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) and the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM), this conference aims to facilitate discussions on interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral issues.

Academicians, researchers, the private sector, and even university students can register. We encourage EVERYONE who puts high interest and expertise in the energy and environment nexus, especially on the topics of:

Abstract Submission & Acceptance
The abstract must be related to the following topics of the conference:
- Energy Transition and New Emerging Technologies
- Interconnection: security and accessibility
- Sustainability and climate change
- Carbon pricing and green investment
- Energy and digitalisation
- Interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral issue
For submission, we also prepared a the abstract.
We only receive submissions from our main submission page through Morressier (which is to be announced soon). A registered account is required to submit the abstract.
No, the abstract submission is free. However, accepted abstracts will be required to register for the Conference and Publication fee.
Minor revision is still acceptable if it does not change the context of the whole abstract.
Participants are suggested to submit an abstract of no more than 200 words and four keywords.
Yes. Everyone is encouraged to submit their abstract or paper.

You will be invited to the 4th AICEE in Lao PDR, in-person, to present your abstract. In addition, all accepted abstracts will be published in the 4th AICEE Proceedings. You may access the previous AICEE Proceeding section here.
To present you abstract, you need to pay for the Conference Fee which include:
- Conference entrance to plenary and all parallel sessions
- Seminar kit, lunch, and coffee break
- Certificate of attendance
Conference Registration
The 4th AICEE is divided into three sub-events. There is no fee to submit your abstract. Once the abstract is selected, you shall make a payment to attend the conference. More information about the fee is summarised below.

No, the abstract submission is free. However, accepted abstracts will be required to register for the Conference and Publication fee.
Confirmation of registration and invoice will be sent to your email once you have already registered an account here. Complete payment can be paid only by credit/debit card (online payment). Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide any accommodation for participants during the conference.
The conference will provide you with expert’s recommendations for your paper, networking sessions with various institutions and stakeholders, and accelerate a resilient energy security and transition through a knowledge-sharing forum. Other benefits include:
(1) Conference entrance to plenary and all parallel sessions;
(2) Free entry to opening ceremony and exhibition of ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2024; (3) Seminar Kit and certificate of participation in the 4th AICEE;
(4) Coffee break and lunch will also be provided during the event.
Full Paper Submission & Peer Review Process
The paper should consist of 8,000-10,000 words. Other format requirements should be following the general journal standards. The layout will be given through email once your abstract is accepted.
After the conference, participants are required to submit their full paper to the Morressier and Peer Review will be conducted.
After submission to the Morressier, each paper will be assigned to several scientific committees in the field (peers) who review the paper anonymously. They will evaluate the paper’s originality, methodology, clarity, and significance. Based on their feedback, the scientific Committee will decide on whether to accept, reject, or request revisions to the paper. AICEE also guarantees the quality of our scientific Committee for peer review process.
The duration of the peer review could take two to three months from the submission paper.
We have an appeals process that allows authors to challenge editorial decisions. If the author believes there has been a misunderstanding or error in the review process, you may contact [email protected] with the subject of Appeal Peer Review Process.
Accepted abstracts are required to pay for both Conference and Publication Fee. The publication fee is NONREFUNDABLE if the peer review and IOP review declare the paper as rejected.

For participants from Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, and Viet Nam, Scholarship and Registration Fee Waiver is AVAILABLE. Organizer will share further information once the abstract is accepted.
Only selected papers will be published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (Scopus indexed) – subject to peer review process.
IOP Journal: Earth and Environmental Science is a Scopus-indexed journal with Q4 level.
Authors may wish to re-submit to other conferences or to the 5th AICEE. Please note that Publication Fee is NONREFUNDABLE.
Conference Policy
Our cancellation policy does not provide for refunds or returns of the registration fee in such cases. When registering for the conference, participants agree to the terms and conditions, which include a no-refund policy.
Participants are responsible for booking travel and accommodation themselves. We do not handle the participant’ travel expenses outside the payment package, but we will provide the guidelines for your travel to Vientiane, Lao PDR.
Anti-Harassment and Discrimination Policy is committed to ensure a safe and open environment for participants. As such, no form of harassment and discrimination are allowed during the conference.
If any participants feel harassed or discriminated by other participants or Committee, participants are encouraged to file a report to the following email: [email protected] with the subject of Harrassment/Discrimination Report.
The Committee will address and review the report provided by the applicant. Based on the review process, AICEE serves the right to disqualify or terminate the submission.
IOP Journal: Earth and Environmental Science is a Scopus-indexed journal with Q4 level.
The whole AICEE committee remains dedicated to high-quality substantive paper and the conference’s integrity. Plagiarism is a significant violation of the conference’s integrity, thus it will not be permitted. Any participants caught plagiarising before or during the conference will be disqualified from the conference, and any materials caught plagiarising will have the plagiarised clauses/ sections erased. Should any of the participants be found guilty of plagiarism, the Committee maintains the authority to disqualify the participation from the conference.
