In conjunction with the 39th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) and AEBF, ACE and the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) present the 1st ASEAN International Conference on Energy and Environment (AICEE) to provide networking opportunities for academics, practitioners, and stakeholders. With the theme, “ASEAN Energy Transition with Resiliency in the Post-Pandemic Climate Change Era”, this event will present recent research on energy, climate change, and related issues, especially energy transition with resiliency in the post-pandemic and climate change era in the ASEAN context. The 1st AICEE is fully supported by the ASEAN Climate Change and Energy Project (ACCEPT) – a jointly implemented project by ACE and Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) on the event execution and the publication of the papers on the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science.
Some possible topics include the “Energy Transition”, for example, renewable energy technologies and policies, high-efficiency low emission fossil fuels, energy efficiency and conservation. And other issues “Energy Climate”, including covid-19 and energy systems, post-pandemic green recovery, energy in Paris Agreement, and climate finance and green economy.
“The 1st ASEAN International Conference on Energy and Environment (AICEE) represent our triple helix collaboration between governments, the private sector, and academician and research institute. It happened by the strong support from Brunei Darussalam as host and co-hosted by ACE and Universiti Brunei Darussalam as an official academic partner and DMG as the event organiser. Hopefully, AICEE will be a platform to gather the latest research finding and innovation through presentations and discussions on energy, environment, and related issues pertinent in the Southeast Asia region and beyond”, said Dr Nuki Agya Utama, the Executive Director of ACE.
