The Ministry of Electricity and Energy is facing pressure from key private sector bodies and embassies over its plans to rush through a 1 GW solar tender in the middle of the pandemic. On May 25, the American, British, and European chambers of commerce submitted a letter to the ministry highlighting their concerns and asking for an extension of the June 18 deadline to submit tender documents for the project.
