For the National Electrification Project (NEP) Phase-1, electrification works in the 2 miles of the system was carried out and with the budget surplus of the project, works are being carried out according to Ministry of Electricity and Energy. More than 2700 constructing works for electrification have been completed till May, 2020 and over 2100 villages have been illuminated. In Sagaing Region, 856 Electrification Projects have been completed and 729 villages got electricity. In Kayah State, 4 projects were completed and 4 villages got electricity.
