KUALA LUMPUR: The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 25) must continue to be guided by and reflect the principles of equity and common but differentiated responsibilities.
This, the Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Ministry (MESTECC) said, is in light of different national circumstances, under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and its Paris Agreement.
MESTECC issued the statement at the opening plenary of the conference on behalf of the Like-Minded Developing Countries, a grouping of 25 developing countries including Malaysia, China, India, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Egypt and others that form a negotiating bloc in the UN Climate negotiations.
