Chinese companies have outnumbered their local and foreign rivals by far in submitting bids for a controversial solar tender in Myanmar, according to an unofficial list of bidders seen by The Myanmar Times. The ministry has not made any official announcements about the number of bids received or released details of the bidders, however, the winners will be announced “very soon”, deputy permanent secretary U Soe Myint told this newspaper last week.
