TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesian airline Pelita Air has officially started using Pertamina Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) made from used cooking oil (UCO) produced and distributed by Pertamina. The debut of Pelita Air’s commercial flights using bioaviation fuel took place on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, on the Jakarta-Bali route.

Global energy storage technology and energy software services provider Fluence and ACE Engineering have opened a new automated battery storage manufacturing facility in Vietnam’s Bac Giang Province.

The facility, which boasts an annual manufacturing capacity of 35GWh, will produce Fluence’s Gridstack Pro and Smartstack energy storage systems using fully automated production processes designed to enhance productivity and quality control.

Blueleaf Energy, a leading pan-Asian renewable energy platform owned by a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management, and Chemsain Sustainability Sdn Bhd (Chemsain), a Malaysian sustainability advisory firm, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of up to 3 GW of onshore utility-scale renewable energy projects in Sarawak, Malaysia. The MoU was formalized during a closed-door ceremony at the Macquarie ASEAN Conference in Singapore.

JAKARTA – PT Pertamina (Persero) in collaboration with PT Pindad officially launched the first ultrasonic oil and gas pipeline inspection technology in Indonesia. The technology, which is named ILI UT (In-Line Inspection Intelligence Pigging Ultrasonic Tool) is an intelligent logging device with ultrasonic technology to carry out precise internal oil and gas pipeline inspections.

Indonesia’s PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Prabumulih Field recorded an increase in oil and gas production (migas) in the first semester of 2025. The oil production at the field reached 2,468 barrels of oil per day (BOPD), skyrocketing by 486.2 percent compared to the initial target of 507.6 BOPD.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Deputy in the fields of Energy and Mineral Resources Coordination at the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Elen Setiadi, mentioned three potential oil and gas blocks that could increase the national oil production. These are the Abadi project, Tangguh UCC project, and the Indonesia Deepwater Development (IDD) project in the Geng North block.
