Brunei Shell Petroleum, a subsidiary of the UK-headquartered energy giant Shell, has booked a drillship owned by Noble Corporation, a U.S.-based offshore drilling player, for a drilling campaign off the coast of Brunei in Southeast Asia, on the northern coast of the island of Borneo.

Filipino rebar producer SteelAsia Manufacturing Corp. will decarbonize part of its Bulacan operations with a new 1.9-MW rooftop solar photovoltaic system.

The 3,200 solar modules commissioned by TotalEnergies ENEOS are capable of generating 2,700 MWh of renewable electricity annually. The solar output will cut energy costs for SteelAsia at its Meycauyan, Bulacan facility while also reducing the future carbon emissions by 2,300 metric tons per year from the site, according to the release.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Brunei has successfully reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 15% compared to the business-as-usual scenario, following the implementation of climate change mitigation strategies, the Second Minister of Finance and Economy said Monday.

MANILA – For two consecutive weeks, oil firms will slash pump prices effective March 11, with biggest cuts on gasoline and kerosene prices.

In separate advisories, Cleanfuel, Jetti, Petro Gazz, PTT, Seaoil, and Shell said they will reduce gasoline prices by PHP1.70 per liter and 90 centavos per liter for diesel.

Four Japanese firms are set to invest Php 23.5 billion in the Philippines, with a portion of the funds directed toward renewable energy projects.

In a Philippine Star report, among the firms with investment plans is Sumitomo Corporation, which is looking to expand its investments in renewable energy as part of the Philippine government’s push for energy security and lower carbon emissions.
