The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) partners with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) to offer scholarships that cover conference registration fees and grants for accommodation. The ERIA scholarship is awarded to researchers, particularly early-career academics, who may face financial constraints that hinder their participation. Recipients receive grants for airfare and accommodation, as well as a scholarship to cover full conference registration fees for the 5th AICEE conference.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Eligibility: Applicants must be affiliated with an institution in Southeast Asia, and/or hold residency or nationality within the region.
  2. Priority: Preference will be given to applicants from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Viet Nam, and Timor-Leste. Applicants from other ASEAN countries are also encouraged to apply.
  3. Abstract Requirement: Only applicants with abstracts that have successfully passed the blind peer-review process and been accepted for presentation at the conference are eligible.
  4. Selection Criteria: Awards are based on both the quality of the abstract and the fulfilment of eligibility requirements, as determined by the committee.
  5. Commitment: Recipients are expected to attend and actively participate in the 5th AICEE. Scholarships will be forfeited if the recipient does not attend the conference, even if proceeding with publication.

Scholarship

The ASEAN Climate Change and Energy Project (ACCEPT), a collaborative initiative between the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), is the first integrated project in ASEAN focusing on the intersection of energy and climate. ACCEPT is designed to support ASEAN’s energy transition, aligning with the goals of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC).

As part of our ongoing efforts, ACCEPT is pleased to participate as an Academic Partner in the 5th ASEAN International Conference on Energy and Environment (5th AICEE) 2025. ACCEPT will play a key role in reviewing submitted abstracts. Researchers whose work aligns with ACCEPT’s objectives will have the opportunity to receive sponsorship to present their findings at the conference and may also submit their papers for publication in the IOP Conference Series.

This initiative seeks to:

  • Address regional challenges related to energy security, climate change, and sustainable development.
  • Support innovative research on energy-climate issues within ASEAN.
  • Provide policymakers with evidence-based recommendations to guide data-driven policymaking.

By participating in this initiative, researchers can contribute to the region’s transition towards a sustainable and resilient energy future while gaining recognition and support for their work.
