Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 22) – There are 59 electric cooperatives which failed to get favor from their power suppliers to lift the minimum energy off-take in a bid to reduce the power rates of electric consumers, said a power cooperative group. Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association Inc. (PHILRECA) General Manager and Executive Director Janeene Colingan said that only two electric cooperatives were allowed by their power suppliers to lift the so-called minimum charges by electric utilities.
