Key Points

The global energy crunch resulted in robust demands and tight supplies in fossil fuel sectors. The government and industry started to sense the impact of the geopolitical conflict and geared up to encounter the challenges. However, the year 2022 could be a turning point for ASEAN Member States strategically address energy security with considerations towards green energy. Several policies related to fossil fuel sectors were implemented to ease energy price shocks. The coal, oil, and gas industry also followed the path in the transition into cleaner and more resilient energy.
