The electricity growth in ASEAN countries in 2022 was faced with disruptions to the global energy supply chain, which will cause fluctuations in energy prices and impact energy security. Nonetheless, AMS countries were able to overcome this crisis by implementing measures to improve their electricity interconnection and support renewable energy investments. Adoption of digital technology was expected to bring significant benefits to the power sector in the region, such as increased reliability and cost savings.
