ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), through the ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP) Phase II, and support from the ASEAN Member States (AMS), developed the 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO6). AEO6 is a flagship publication to express the AMS’ interest at understanding current energy trend and landscape. AEO6 supports the development of sustainable energy in the ASEAN Member States (AMS).

“The 6th ASEAN energy outlook provides us with an overview of the current energy landscape with some possible scenarios for policymakers and other stakeholders. It also contains energy perspectives by 2040 and its pathways for the region to be more resilient, to enable energy affordability and sustainability. It presents comparative scenarios versus baseline, current energy planning, more implementation on RE and EE targets, as well as the implementation of SDG7”, said Dr Nuki Agya Utama, the Executive Director of ASEAN Centre for Energy.

“This highly relevant publication is the result of an outstanding joint research and development effort by various well-respected energy experts in the region. Therefore, we would like to thank the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), ASEAN Member States, as well Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), for their fruitful and excellent collaboration,” said Oliver Hoppe, Development Cooperation Counsellor, German Embassy – ASEAN.
