ASEAN Energy Award is Southeast Asia’s highest reward to encourage and bring about recognition of greater private sector participation and interest in energy development of the ASEAN region in partnership with the public sector. It consists of four categories: ASEAN Coal Awards, ASEAN Energy Efficiency and Conservation Best Practices Awards, ASEAN Renewable Energy Project Awards, and the latter category is the ASEAN Excellence in Energy Management by Individual 2021.
In the youth category, ACE organised the 2nd ASEAN Energy Youth Awards (AEYA) with support from the Southeast Asia Minister of Education Organization (SEAMEO), the Korea Energy Agency (KEA) and the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy with the theme, “Innovation and Creativity Towards Sustainable and Resilient Energy System in ASEAN“.
The Southeast Asian-level prizes were awarded as part of the 39th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) and the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2021 held today. The awards are expected to be the instrument to promote clean coal technology (CCT), energy efficiency, and renewable energy development to contribute towards energy sustainability and to provide a mechanism for organisations to search continuously, benchmark and acknowledge initiatives and best practices in energy development. This year the awards are given to 114 awardees that have shown works in technology promotion and development towards clean energy transition, resilience, and sustainability.
