ACE Participated in the 1st IKI Communication and Digital Training

The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) attended the 1st International Climate Initiative (IKI) Communication and Digital Training on 5-6 March 2024, represented by Syahira Narizta Syahputri, Business Development Unit Officer at ACE, and Aurelia Syafina Luthfi, Communications at ACE. Organised by IKI Hub Indonesia, the two-day training took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, which gathered several IKI project stakeholders with the theme “Communicating project impact stories through powerful writing in the digital age” to help building branding identity through impactful stories and powerful digital content. 

The training’s agenda featured informative panel sessions, including practical writing classes and interactive activities, focused on building trust with targeted audiences, creating good human interest stories, connecting content with the young generation, and integrating gender and social inclusion into the writing. 

The first day commenced with a trust-building session among participants, followed by a presentation on systemic change through narrative building. This presentation highlighted two types of problems and methods to resolve them. The training continued with practical insights shared on identifying various perspectives when crafting narratives. The final session of the day was an interactive presentation on cultivating empathy for the optimal writing outcomes. The session emphasised the importance of understanding diverse perspectives in writing to enhance stakeholder collaboration. It stressed the need to accommodate each stakeholders’ interests in written content, highlighting the significance of crafting a compelling narrative tailored to each stakeholder to maximise their support.  

On the second day, the session started with a discussion on the nuances of science article writing, stressing the importance of using precise language when communicating to the public. The subsequent session focused on the importance of identifying the right audience in each social media platforms. The next speaker emphasised the application of social inclusion in the narrative frameworks. Gender principles in social development were discussed during the final session. Throughout the two-day training, participants were encouraged to actively engage in group and individual assignments, facilitating hands-on learning experiences.
