1 What are the prizes if I get selected as an AEYA 2025 awardee?

Awardees of the 5th AEYA 2025 will receive the following:

1. Cash Prizes:

Winner USD 1,000
1st Runner-up USD 750
2nd Runner-up USD 500

2. Special Prizes:

Each awardee will receive a fully funded trip to Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia to attend the Sustainability & Renewable Energy Forum (SAREF 4.0) on 3–4 September 2025, which includes:

  • Round-trip airfare from your ASEAN country of residence
  • Hotel accommodation during the event

3. Recognition:

All awardees will receive award certificates and have the opportunity to present their work during SAREF 4.0.

2 Can employees of the involved organiser participate?

Yes, as long as they are not directly involved in the organising committee or evaluation process.

3 What is the format for the policy pitch?

There is no fixed format, but submissions must not exceed 1000 words (excluding references/appendices) in PDF format. Visuals such as charts, graphs, or tables are allowed to support your arguments.

4 If I don't have an ID card, what should I submit?

You can submit a valid Student Card or Passport as proof of eligibility.

5 Am I eligible if I'm turning 15 or 35 years old this year?

As long as you meet the minimum age of 15 or the maximum age of 35 on or before 31 July 2025 (or any submission date extensions), you are eligible to participate in the 5th AEYA 2025.

6 Can individuals living from ASEAN Citizenship outside SEA's country still can apply and attend SAREF?

Yes, ASEAN nationals living abroad are eligible to apply as long as they hold a valid ASEAN passport or ID. However, travel support will only cover flights to and from ASEAN countries. If selected, visa invitation letters can be provided.

7 Can I apply as a fresh graduate or collaborate with someone from another country?

Yes. Fresh graduates can apply under the Young Professional category. For the Policy Pitch category, you may also join as a team (max. 3) with members from different ASEAN countries or education levels — as long as all meet the age and nationality requirements.

8 What if I win but cannot attend the presentation at SAREF 4.0 in Kuching, Sarawak?

Finalists are required to attend on-site at SAREF 4.0 for the final judging and award ceremony. Hybrid or virtual settings are not available.

9 Does the Policy Pitch competition require team participation, or can it be submitted individually?

For the Policy Pitch category, we highly encourage group submissions (maximum 3 members) to foster broader perspectives and collaboration. Individual submissions, while allowed, are not the primary format.

10 Can the submitted video be in the form of animation or motion graphics? How should we submit it?

Yes, animation or motion graphics are allowed as long as they do not infringe on any copyright materials.
