Description

Fossil fuel combustion for electricity generation is a major contributor to air quality concerns in Southeast Asia, a region that carries one of the highest global air pollution burdens. Regional and country-level decision makers need high-quality data and analysis tools to develop policies and regulations to increase the co-benefit of air quality improvements resulting from deployment of renewable energy. As part of a project to quantify the impacts of renewable energy deployment on air quality and human health in Southeast Asia, the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and ASEAN Center for Energy (ACE) are hosting a webinar that will provide an overview of the Air Quality Modeling project associated with the ASEAN Interconnection Masterplan Study (AIMS-III). This project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development.
