Shaping Collaboration of Indonesian Viewpoint on Clean Energy Development in Transport Sector
Ulsan, South Korea – The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) has been invited as one of the speakers by Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI) to present ASEAN status, in particular of Indonesian status on the deployment of eco-friendly vehicle in the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) Expert Workshop that took place in Ulsan, South Korea on 25-26 April 2019. The purpose of this workshop is to ignite the deployment of eco-friendly vehicle among CEM member countries and transforming the cities and towns to be clean, sustainable, and energy-efficient communities, which is also part of the continuation of Sustainable Cities and Eco-energy Towns (SCET) initiatives in CEM8 back in 2018.
Discourse of Coherent Policy Approach on Clean Coal Technology Towards the Development of ASEAN Energy Blueprint
Langkawi, Malaysia – The 17th ASEAN Forum on Coal (AFOC) was held at Langkawi, Malaysia from 2-4 April 2019, and attended by AFOC focal points from 7 ASEAN Member States (AMS) namely Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Thailand as well as representatives of ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), JCOAL and World Coal Association (WCA).
Shaping the New Directives on Developing Energy Outlook Scenarios
Phnom Penh, Cambodia – The 2nd workshop on the development of the 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO6) was held in March 2019. The workshop mainly discussed the scenarios that need to be developed in order to establish the ASEAN future energy trend. Several International Organizations (IOs) have participated in this workshop to support the development of AEO6 scenarios.
A Crucial Step in Forecasting Future Energy Trends in Southeast Asia
The 1st Working Meeting of the 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO) was held at Jogjakarta, Indonesia from 11th to 15th February 2019. This workshop attended by Energy Data/Statistics Expert of 8 AMS: Brunei D, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, to verify and complete the dataset for the AEO6 modelling, which contains energy, power, and socio-economic data. The development of the AEO reflects the relevance of ACE’s effort to fulfil its function as a regional centre of excellence that builds a coherent, coordinated, focused and robust energy policy agenda and strategy among ASEAN Member States (AMS). It is expected to be launched at the 38th ASEAN Ministry of Energy Meeting (AMEM) in September 2020 in Hanoi, Vietnam.
