The Role of Academia in Shaping the Energy Transition in ASEAN
Celebrating the first anniversary of the ASEAN Researchers Network on Energy and Climate Change (ARNECC), a public webinar was held to discuss the role of academia in shaping the policy for the climate-friendly energy transition in ASEAN. The webinar’s main objective was to disseminate the information about ARNECC publicly and discuss further the ideas on how academics can better convey their studies and inputs to support the development of energy and climate policies at the national and regional level.

On Saturday, 20 February 2021, ACCEPT’s research analyst, Mr. Muhammad Rizki Kresnawan, was invited as a guest speaker in virtual Webinar Series held by Agrata Institute Indonesia titled The Implementation of Indonesia National Policies Towards UNFCCC in Order to Combating Climate Change. Agrata is a youth association who are working in society to achieve SDGs 2030.

Inspiring Youth and Women to Participate in Achieving SDG7
The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) through the ASEAN Climate Change and Energy Project (ACCEPT) was invited to host one career fair session in the first SEforALL Youth Summit, which was held virtually on 9-11 February 2021. Arumdari Nurgianti, the Data Visualisation Officer, and Rika Safrina, the ICT and Data Research Officer, both also the team members of ACCEPT, led one session on 10 February, to introduce the products of ACCEPT, and how their works fit into the broader Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #7 challenge. Participated by young generation aged 15-23 years old from around the world, the session highlighted the youth roles in sustainable energy and climate change.

On 3 February 2021, ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) conducted a virtual 15th ASEAN+3 New and Renewable Energy (NRE) and Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EE&C) forum. The event is focusing to discuss the way forward actions in the post-pandemic for energy sectors and attended by ASEAN government officials as well as the representatives from Plus Three countries such as China, Japan, and South Korea.
