ASEAN Energy Transition Workshop: Renewable Energy

In accordance with ASEAN Plan of Action and Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II: 2021-2025, ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) held a virtual workshop to embrace the importance, achievements, and goals of Renewable Energy (RE) within the ASEAN Member States (AMS) to acquire regional energy target and national climate commitment.

Roadmaps Towards Sustainable and Energy Efficient Buildings and Cooling in Southeast Asia

International Energy Agency (IEA), in partnership with the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), the ASEAN Secretariat, and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Sub Sector Network (EE&C-SSN), convened a workshop titled Roadmaps Towards Sustainable and Energy Efficient Buildings and Cooling in Southeast Asia held virtually on 6 April 2021. The workshop, which was part of the EE&C-SSN and associated meetings, was held to assist all the ASEAN Member States (AMS) in developing roadmaps towards sustainable and energy efficient buildings and cooling.

Realizing the Shift of ASEAN’s Markets to Energy-Efficient and Climate Friendly Appliances

Supporting Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EE&C) Programme Area of ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC), ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) has been collaborating with United Nations Environment Programme – United for Efficiency (UNEP- U4E) for more than a decade to coordinate the global activities with the regional initiatives. One of the implementations of ACE-UNEP U4E partnership is a virtual workshop titled “Realizing the Shift of ASEAN’s Markets to Energy-Efficient and Climate Friendly Appliances” on 5 April 2021.

The Role of Student in Riding the Waves of Energy Transition Era

On Saturday, 27 March 2021, ACCEPT’s research analyst, Mr. Muhammad Rizki Kresnawan, was invited as a guest lecture in virtual Webinar Series held by Electrical Engineering Programme in Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) titled “Energy and Climate Change: The Role of Student in Riding the waves of Energy Transition Era”.

ARNECC Paper Talks #1

The ASEAN Researchers Network on Energy and Climate Change (ARNECC) is a public group for researchers, analysts, scholars, students, and anyone with deep interests in topics related to energy and climate. It is one of the initiatives under the ASEAN Climate Change and Energy Project (ACCEPT), a collaborative effort between the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).

Oil & Gas in Malaysia & ASEAN – Market Potential and Outlook

On March 23th, 2021, Aussenwirtschaft Austria in Kuala Lumpur (Austria Advantage) held an online event named “Oil & Gas in Malaysia & ASEAN, Market Potential and Outlook”. ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) participated in this event, represented by the ICT & Data Research Officer, Ms. Rika Safrina, who is also the team member of the ASEAN Climate Change and Energy Project (ACCEPT). Other speakers include Mr. James Chan, Vice President of Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation; Mr. Hazli Jemaat, Director of Oil & Gas, Maritime & Logistics Services Division of Malaysian Investment Development Authority; and the Hoerbiger representative in Southeast Asia. Mr. Reinhart Zimmermann from Austria Advantage hosted the entire event. 

Energy Outlook and Cooperation in the ASEAN Region

Reflecting on ASEAN Plan of Action and Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II: 2021-2025 and The 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO6), which were proposed on the 38th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) held virtually in Vietnam on November 19th, 2020, ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) held a webinar to disseminate the importance of APAEC and AEO6 as manuals for ASEAN member states (AMS) to pursue sustainable future.
