Launching of the Reports: ASEAN Oil and Gas, Power Updates 2021
With ASEAN Member States (AMS) commitment to combating climate changes, the hydrogen on energy systems analysis is worth doing to observe the region’s emission mitigation potential and economic benefits. In the long-term, hydrogen could also be an alternative for AMS to reduce dependency on imported fuel along with the deployment of hydrogen-fuelled vehicles. In this regard, the assessment study on hydrogen is essential to understand the feasibility of hydrogen to support the ASEAN energy plan and provide recommendations on developing a roadmap for the region.

ARNECC Paper Talks #6 Registration
On the 6th episode, ARNECC Paper Talks will discuss a recent article on Solar energy and regional coordination as a feasible alternative to large hydropower in Southeast Asia, which published at Nature Communications, volume 12. This paper demonstrates that Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Thailand could achieve emission reduction target while at the same time ensure the security of power supply with less hydropower than currently planned.
ARNECC Paper Talks #5 Registration
This fourth episode of ARNECC Paper Talks will discuss a journal paper entitled “Cost-Benefit Analysis of HELE and Subcritical Coal-Fired Electricity Generation Technologies in Southeast Asia”, published at Sustainability, Vol. 13, February 2021, in the MDPI. This paper focuses on the competitiveness of high-efficiency, low-emission (HELE) coal power plant compare to subcritical power plant by conducting economic analysis as well as possible deployment of HELE technology to promote low-carbon energy and associated policy recommendations.
