Cambodia’s power project secures first guarantees from MIGA

The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a member of the World Bank Group, has issued guarantees supporting the refinancing of existing power transmission infrastructure in Cambodia’s capital of Phnom Penh and its surroundings. The move paves the way for commercial funding to replace the facility previously offered by the Export-Import Bank of Malaysia.

Govt extends power bill payment deadline in Yangon

The government said that it will be extending the deadline for the monthly power tariff in Yangon for up to a month as part of measures to avoid unnecessary mass gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

ADB-supported solar project on the horizon

A 60-megawatt solar station, supported by a $7.64 million loan from Asia Development Bank (ADB) is scheduled to be built later this year in Kampong Chhnang province, north of Phnom Penh.
