Malaysia encourages use of EVs

The Malaysian government has included the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in its National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) towards the goal of EVs accounting for 15% of all vehicles sold by the year 2030, rising to 80% by 2050.

Indonesia Targets Production of 600,000 EV Units by 2030

Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan targets electric vehicle, or EV, production in Indonesia to reach 600,000 units by 2030. Luhut said this could reduce emissions by up to 160,000 tons of CO2 per year.

Indonesia launches first EV battery plant

JAKARTA – Indonesia launched its first electric vehicle battery plant on Wednesday, President Joko Widodo said, as Southeast Asian countries move to gain a foothold in the emerging industry.
