Solar still beats waste-to-energy

A 30-megawatt solar power station in Pursat province has started generating power to the national grid, with three other approved projects set to produce energy in late 2020 but this still leaves questions to be asked on why the waste-to-energy (WTE) method is still not being used.

ADB okays loan to expand power grid

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $127.8 million loan to help expand the Cambodian power grid at a time when the government is making significant progress in expanding lower-cost power generation, a press release said.

Solar power looking sunny

Around 372 megawatts (MW) of additional solar farmland will be put into operation in 2021, which makes up 9 percent of power in the country and 14 percent of the total installed capacity and peak demand respectively, according to data from Electricite du Cambodge (EdC).
