Record’ 97GW of wind energy added in 2020

The wind sector added 97GW of capacity in a record-setting 2020, according the BloombergNEF’s 1H 2021 Global Wind Market Outlook. BloombergNEF expects strong, albeit lower, build of 88GW in 2021. However, from 2022, onshore additions will plateau and most growth will come from offshore, the report forecasts.

Cleantech Solar installs rooftop PV for Malaysia’s Kotra Pharma

Asian renewable energy company, Cleantech Solar, has completed a rooftop solar PV system for Kotra Pharma Sdn Bhd in Melaka Malaysia. The 600 kW solar system has been retrofitted on Kotra Pharma’s manufacturing and research plant and is expected to generate about 790 MWh of electricity in the first year.

BGRIM equips dairy with solar hardware

B.Grimm Power Plc (BGRIM) is installing rooftop solar panels with a capacity of six megawatts for Alaska Milk Corporation, the largest dairy manufacturer in the Philippines, as part of its plan to grow its solar power business.
