Jakarta. Australia will provide $50 million in climate funding to Indonesia’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as startups, according to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese when hosting President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo in Sydney.
The 2023 ASEAN Chair agenda, themed “Epicenter of Growth,” highlights two crucial principles: energy security and funding stability. To bolster the energy transition in the region, ASEAN leaders underscored the need for innovative financing solutions.
Malaysia this year will launch two more national strategic energy roadmaps as the Asean nation further embraces the energy transition. “Of paramount importance is the national energy transition roadmap, which will outline the overarching strategy and high-impact initiatives to expedite the energy transition efforts,” Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said.
