Strong geothermal potential discovered in northern Singapore

A collaborative research initiative in northern Singapore has made groundbreaking discoveries regarding geothermal energy potential, evidenced by two boreholes drilled in the Sembawang area. The findings revealed subsurface temperatures soaring to 122°C at a depth of 1.76 kilometers, a significant leap from the previously recorded 70°C in Admiralty at a depth of 1.12 kilometers.

Financial close reached for Muara Laboh geothermal power plant Unit 2, Indonesia

A financial close agreement has been signed between PT Supreme Energy Muara Laboh (SEML) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for Unit 2 of the Muara Laboh geothermal power plant in West Sumatra, Indonesia. The project has a planned 80-MW installed capacity and a target commercial operations date by 2027.
