ASEAN & Japan Move Further in Energy Efficiency Programme

12 January 2016

The workshop on energy efficiency & conservation (EE&C) policy and regulation, plus EE technology for building sector, was jointly organised by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and The Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ), under the ASEAN-Japan EE Programme (AJEEP) Scheme 3.  Hosted by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) of Cambodia, the workshop took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 11-12 January 2016.  This activity aims to support the development of EE&C policies and regulations in Cambodia through information and experience sharing between ASEAN Member States (AMS) and Japan.

Participants learned about best practices, success stories and lessons learned in developing EE&C policy and regulation.  Subsequently on 13-15 January 2016, the AJEEP Scheme 3 in Cambodia provided Energy Audit&On-The-Job Training (OJT) that aims to promote effective measures for EE&C in the building sector. A technical and knowledge simulation on how to conduct Energy Audit was held at AEON Shopping Mall.  The activity was facilitated by ECCJ experts, and participated by local engineers as well as government officers.
