ASEAN Resiliency in Reaching the 23% Renewable Energy Target by 2025
Da Nang, Vietnam – The 26th Renewable Energy Sub-Sector Network (RE-SSN) Meeting was held at Green Plaza Hotel, Da Nang, Vietnam on the 24 May 2019 and attended by delegates from ASEAN Member States except Philippines, ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC), International Organizations (IOs), and Dialogue Partners (DPs) such as International Energy Agency (IEA), USAID Clean Power Asia, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Hangzhou Regional Centre (HRC), and Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA). During the meeting, the RE-SSN focal points addressed issues related to action plans in order to achieve 23% RE target by 2025 with regard to the ASEAN Plan of Action on Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2016-2025. Whereby the APAEC is an energy blueprint, which the impacts of the outcomes are focused on four dimensions – energy security, affordability, accessibility and sustainability.
ASEAN Commitment on Civilian Nuclear Energy Development
Manila, Philippines – The 9th Nuclear Energy Cooperation Sub-Sector Network (NEC-SSN) meeting was held at Manila, Philippines from 20 to 22 May 2019 and attended by NEC focal points and dialogue partners. During the meeting, the participant discussed the collaboration with dialogue partners and addressed issues related to nuclear with proposed Nuclear and Radiological Programme Administrative Support (NRPAS) Phase II activities in regard to the ASEAN Plan of Action on Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2016-2025. Whereby the APAEC is an energy blueprint, which the impacts of the outcomes are focused on four dimensions – energy security, affordability, accessibility and sustainability.

Bangkok, Thailand – The 23rd Energy Efficiency and Conservation Sub-Sector Network (EE&C-SSN) meeting was held at Bangkok, Thailand, from 25 to 26 April 2019; and attended by the EE&C-SSN focal points. During the meeting, the EE&C-SSN focal points discussed a coherent approach and strategy to meet the energy intensity reduction target of 25% by 2025 and addressed issues related to energy efficiency and conservation with regard to the ASEAN Plan of Action on Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2016-2025. Shaping Collaboration of Indonesian Viewpoint on Clean Energy Development in Transport Sector
Ulsan, South Korea – The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) has been invited as one of the speakers by Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI) to present ASEAN status, in particular of Indonesian status on the deployment of eco-friendly vehicle in the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) Expert Workshop that took place in Ulsan, South Korea on 25-26 April 2019. The purpose of this workshop is to ignite the deployment of eco-friendly vehicle among CEM member countries and transforming the cities and towns to be clean, sustainable, and energy-efficient communities, which is also part of the continuation of Sustainable Cities and Eco-energy Towns (SCET) initiatives in CEM8 back in 2018.

Shaping the New Directives on Developing Energy Outlook Scenarios
Phnom Penh, Cambodia – The 2nd workshop on the development of the 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO6) was held in March 2019. The workshop mainly discussed the scenarios that need to be developed in order to establish the ASEAN future energy trend. Several International Organizations (IOs) have participated in this workshop to support the development of AEO6 scenarios.
2018 was one of the warmest years in Singapore, says Climate Assessment Report
