Summary
This report presents a comprehensive assessment of energy efficiency (EE) technology within Indonesia’s Pulp and Paper sector, commissioned by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE). The assessment provides a rigorous, evidence-based foundation for identifying and implementing decarbonisation pathways in one of the nation's most vital and energy-intensive industries.
The industrial sector is Indonesia's largest final energy consumer, accounting for more than 46% of the total final energy consumption. Enhancing industrial energy efficiency is therefore critical to achieving Indonesia's strategic commitments, including the goal of Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060, its Enhanced Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets by 2030, and the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC).
