Renewable Energy (RE)

About

Renewable Energy (RE) is crucial in ensuring energy security by diversifying the region’s energy supply, supporting sustainable development goals and climate efforts under the Paris Agreement.

To realise ASEAN’s diverse and abundant RE potential, clear policies are catalysing investment, including foreign direct investment. Expanding RE development will accelerate economic and technological advancement and reinforce a sustainable development pathway. Given RE’s essential role in regional interconnectivity, the region must reduce high capital costs, enable bankable projects, and create financing models that mobilise public and private investment.
