The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) participated in the 59th ASEAN Day celebration on 8 August 2026 by hosting an interactive booth alongside embassies, ASEAN bodies, and affiliated centres. Held at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia, the event embraced this year's theme, "Navigating Our Future, Together," reflecting the region's shared commitment to charting a collective path forward amid a changing global landscape.

The celebration marked ASEAN's 59th anniversary, bringing together leaders, innovators, and stakeholders from across the region not only to honor its legacy but also to spark bold collaborations for the future. With a spirit of shared purpose, the gathering reinforced ASEAN's role as a driving force for sustainability, innovation, and inclusive growth in Southeast Asia and beyond.

In the afternoon, ACE had the honor of welcoming H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, to its booth. The ACE team presented the Centre's key initiatives and programmes, and the Secretary-General expressed his appreciation and continued support for ACE's work in advancing the region's energy cooperation agenda.

In this year's exhibition, ACE's booth showcased informative materials on the Centre's accomplishments, publications, and key programmes. A key highlight this year was the promotion of the 26th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF-26), which will be held on 5-9 October 2026 in Metro Manila, Philippines, hosted by the Department of Energy (DOE) Philippines in conjunction with the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM). As ASEAN's flagship annual conference and exhibition on energy, AEBF brings together policymakers, business leaders, investors, and researchers to strengthen public-private cooperation and advance the region's energy transition priorities under ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2026-2030. To spread the word, the ACE team distributed AEBF-26 brochures to visitors throughout the day, inviting them to learn more and join the forum.

Visitors also experienced hands-on learning through ACE's interactive memory game, where each icon represented one of the seven Programme Areas under APAEC 2026-2030. To keep the energy up, merchandise such as pouches, tumbler mugs, pens, and notebooks were given out to the winners, which brought an enthusiastic crowd to the booth throughout the day.

ACE's booth attracted a diverse range of visitors, including government officials, industry leaders, and other stakeholders, providing a valuable opportunity to share our programmes on energy transition and sustainability, while spreading the word on AEBF-26. Through this engagement, ACE reinforced its role as a key regional player advocating for sustainable development and enhanced collaboration across ASEAN Member States (AMS).
