Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) along with Sansiri Public Company Limited has launched the Smart Life Platform project to expand services and provide convenience for electricity users.
The MEA also will pilot the installation of MEA Smart Charging for Electric Vehicles (EV) at THE LINE Phahon-Pradipat, a residential project developed by Sansiri Public Company Limited.
The project was unveiled at an event on 22January 2020, hosted by MEA Deputy Governor, Mr. Wanchai Chiarawattanavit, and Sansiri Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Uthai Uthaisangsuk.
Mr. Wanchai said that the MEA, as the electricity provider for Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan, realises the importance of upgrading modern services to meet the needs of urban life, and provide convenient service for those living in condominiums. To fulfil this role, MEA has signed a memorandum of understanding for the project, which for the first time will see the MEA connect its Smart Life Application to Sansiri Home Service Application for the benefit of residents of the Sansiri project. This connection, slated for completion in mid-February 2020, will allow users to check the electricity charges, pay bills using a QR Code or barcode scan, and check their electricity usage history going back six months.
The MEA also has plans to develop additional electrical system services in the near future, and encourages entrepreneurs who can develop such applications for condo residents to contact the MEA Application Development Department on 0 2289 0151, ext. 5579.
Additionally, the MEA and Sansiri are collaborating on the MEA Smart Charging for Electric Vehicles pilot project, a system for managing electric capacitors manufactured by MEA for electric vehicles. Installing this in the vicinity of the Sansiri development will allow the MEA to determine the most efficient configuration before scaling up the project to include other areas.
