  • ASEAN national.
  • Proficiency in English and very good writing skills.
  • Interest in the field of ACE’s work, particularly the APAEC 2016-2025’s 7 (seven) Programme Areas; ASEAN Power Grid, Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline, Coal and Clean Coal Technology, Energy Efficiency and Conservation, Renewable Energy, Regional Energy Policy and Planning, and Civilian Nuclear Energy.
  • Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy studies, international relations, or related field (minimum the third-year student). For communication interns, a degree in language studies is preferred.
  • Enrolled in a Master degree in engineering, energy studies, or related field (pursuing at least one semester/quarter remaining after internship).
  • Recently graduated with a university degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a 6 months period after graduation.
  • Basic knowledge on general computer software (i.e. MS Office).
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and to adapt to an international working environment.

The Manager will perform the following core activities:

  1. Manage and direct the Administration and Finance Division and its activities concerning office administration, finance, personnel (HR), procurement and general affairs matters.
  2. Preparation of yearly Budget and Financial Report to the ACE Executive Director and to the Governing Council of ACE. The Governing Council, consisting of the senior officials on energy from the 10 ASEAN countries, provides direction to the operations of ACE.
  3. Identifying opportunities for project funding, such as, drafting concept papers, project proposals and reports, developing project budget and cash flows and monitoring strategies.
  4. Carryout works relating to staffing matters: preparations and selection, recruitment, placement, evaluation of performance, compensation and protection, replacement, handling over and termination.
  5. Carry out other task/s that may be assigned to him/her by the Executive Director.

ACE is seeking two Senior Officers (SO) from the ASEAN nations only.

Under the supervision of the Manager, SO will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Lead research and analysis in modelling the energy transition scenario for ASEAN.
  • Lead research and study on net-zero emission in ASEAN, and designing and implementing the policy.
  • Lead research and study on carbon pricing in ASEAN, and designing and implementing the policy.
  • Support other related studies on energy-climate nexus in ASEAN.
  • Coordinate collaboration opportunities with AMS and various external partners and representing ACE in various meetings with Dialogue Partners, Intergovernmental Organisations, etc. Liaise closely with other teams and pillars at ACE in this regard.
