ACE is seeking an Energy Modeller as part of the Energy Modelling and Policy Planning (MPP) Department. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Energy Modeller shall assist the Manager of Energy Modelling and Policy Planning (MPP) in handling Modelling aspects of the MPP. He/she will assist energy modelling activities of the Centre with regards to enhancing the capacity and exposure as a regional energy think tank, also the knowledge hub and catalyst. The modelling activities shall relate to the policies in light of the priorities of the ASEAN Ministers of Energy Meeting / Senior Officials Meeting on Energy under the framework of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) with its seven (7) programme areas, namely: 1) ASEAN Power Grid, 2) Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline, 3) Coal and Clean Technology, 4) Energy Efficiency and Conservation, 5) Renewable Energy, 6) Regional Energy Policy and Planning, and 7) Civilian Nuclear Energy.
Under the supervision of the Manager, Senior Officer, or the designated person, Energy Modeller will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Conduct energy modelling activities, especially in the context of ASEAN Energy Outlook, including but not limited to data processing, parameters analysis and projection, modelling software application, problem-solving, and results analysis.
- Support research, study and analysis in the capacity of energy modeller. Activities include but not limited to policy tracking, energy outlook, long-term roadmap, academic paper and strategic report publication, and technology database development.
- Support the implementation of the APAEC priorities, mainly the Regional Energy Policy and Planning (REPP), but also other related Programme Areas.
- Support the development and implementation of the projects and activities on energy modelling and policy planning, including cross-sectoral topics.
- Support in the communication and collaboration with external parties related to energy modelling activities. This may include support in facilitating meetings, dialogue, workshops, and other events.
- Carry out other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor or Executive Director.
- Working in un-siloed environment with other pillars/divisions within the organisation for all the tasks above.
REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS
The successful candidate will be stationed in Jakarta, Indonesia and will be offered a one-year contract, with a probationary period of three (3) months. The contract may be extended depending on performance.
The successful candidate will be offered a monthly salary within a range of USD 805 – 1,932. The salary shall be commensurate with the educational qualification and experience of the candidate. All other applicable benefits, such as 13th salary, gratuity, allowance, annual leave, insurance, etc shall be subject to the ACE consolidated rules and regulations.
The successful candidate is expected to be on board by April 2025.
