Key Points

The ASEAN Centre for Energy developed the report of ‘Stocktaking and Evaluation of the Accomplishment and Directions of Energy Conservation Workshop under ASEAN Japan Energy Efficiency Partnership (AJEEP) Programme (ECAP) from 2012-2019’ to highlight the accomplishments, outcomes, and results of the conduct of 20 ECAP workshops between 2012-2019, that consisted of lecture series, group discussion, and site visits in Japan, and participated by total of 290 policy makers and experts on energy efficiency and conservation from AMS.The ECAP workshops were held to support the implementation of AJEEP Scheme 2 and 3, which have enhanced the ASEAN Member States capacity and capability and have narrowed the gap in the development of Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EE&C) legal and regulatory framework, including the Energy Efficiency Standards and Labelling (S&L) System, Green Building and Building Energy Code, and Energy Management and Energy Manager Certification System. We are therefore delighted to publish this report in hopes that this could stimulate new innovations through dissemination of information as well as provides robust guidance and recommendations for the future cooperation between ASEAN and Japan, especially for the development of AJEEP Scheme 4 and Scheme 5, in enhancing EE&C development towards a sustainable energy development.
