Vietnam Implements New Electricity Licensing Regulations

The government introduces measures to bolster sustainable energy and improve retail electricity operations.

On March 4, 2025, the Vietnamese government issued Decree No. 61/2025/NĐ-CP, establishing new conditions for organizations seeking licenses to operate within the electricity sector, particularly focusing on the retail and wholesale aspects of electricity. These regulations mark significant shifts aimed at improving operational standards and the overall efficiency of the electricity market.
