Filipino rebar producer SteelAsia Manufacturing Corp. will decarbonize part of its Bulacan operations with a new 1.9-MW rooftop solar photovoltaic system.
The 3,200 solar modules commissioned by TotalEnergies ENEOS are capable of generating 2,700 MWh of renewable electricity annually. The solar output will cut energy costs for SteelAsia at its Meycauyan, Bulacan facility while also reducing the future carbon emissions by 2,300 metric tons per year from the site, according to the release.
