Key Points

The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute (CREEI) co-developed a research report that analyses the current energy resources and electric power systems of ASEAN Member States, forecasts the regional balance between supply and demand of electric power and transmission in the future, proposes ASEAN power interconnection planning layout and recommends key cooperative projects so to substantially promote ASEAN power cooperation and development.  This report was launched on 3 July 2017 during the 3rd East Asia Summit Clean Energy Forum, held in Kunming (Yunnan, China), and is expected to be updated on a regular basis to be shared during the East Asia Summit Clean Energy Forums.
